Job Description: |
This position is for the entire summer of 2025 (both A & B) with the potential for continued employment but not guaranteed
Student employees within the Reitz Union must:
- Be a current UF degree seeking student registered at a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester
- Respond to and assist with emergency situations and building evacuations per department procedures or as instructed by building management staff
- Possess exceptional customer service while maintaining a high level of professionalism
- Demonstrate a desire and willingness to learn in a fast-paced team-oriented environment
- Establish an exemplary work ethic by being productive, self-motivated, and dependable
- Participate in all scheduled meetings, trainings, and evaluations
- Act as an ambassador for all Reitz Union areas as well as the University of Florida, providing accurate information and campus resources
Position Specific Responsibilities:
- Operates the automatic scoring system for bowling lanes and registers. Including money handling, credit card transactions, and the front counter area
- Repairs bowling equipment, monitors Game Room for vandalism and functionality. Reports Game Room equipment failures to the Manager on duty
- Responsible for general maintenance and clerical duties including: picking up trash as needed, returning equipment to proper racks, cleaning counter area, restocking forms, sharpening pencils, and answering phones
- Communicates with managers problems that arise during shifts, equipment failures, and other issues that affect the smooth operation of the Game Room
- Provide shift reports of daily activities, supplies utilized, and other relative information
- Completes all training requirements upon being hired in a timely fashion
- Ability to commit to working 10 or more hours per week including late evenings and weekends
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50lbs
- Other duties as assigned

Advertised Salary: |
$13.00/hour

Minimum Requirements: |
This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and will be employed through student Other Personnel Services (OPS) or Federal Work-Study (FWS) and must maintain a 2.0 grade point average. Registered students are employed on a part-time basis, up to 20 hours per week.
Summer 2025 (both A & B) availability is required.

Preferred Qualifications: |
Although no experience is necessary to apply all training will be provided, we would prefer for all student employees to:
- Demonstrate previous experience with customer service
- Be proficient with verbal and written communication
- Be physically able to perform minimum tasks related to maintenance and repair of bowling equipment and machinery
- Demonstrate the ability to handle cash and credit card transactions correctly and without error
- Have CPR and First Aid Certified, or willing to obtain
