Job Description:

The student assistant for Ethics in the Public Sphere will play a key role in supporting program operations by coordinating events, managing digital outreach, and engaging with campus and community stakeholders. Responsibilities include event logistics, social media and website updates, and outreach efforts. The ideal candidate will be organized, proactive, and enthusiastic about ethics, civic engagement, and public discourse.

  • Event Support: Assist with planning, advertising, and executing EPS events, including lectures, workshops, and discussions.
  • Digital Communications: Coordinates with CLAS Communications to maintain and update the EPS website and social media platforms to promote events and initiatives.
  • Outreach & Engagement: Connect with students, faculty, and external partners to expand EPS’s impact.

Administrative Support: Provide general assistance for EPS projects, including coordinating logistics and tracking engagement metrics.

Expected Salary:

$14.00/Hour

Minimum Requirements:
  • Must have a minimum of 2.5 Cumulative GPA.
  • Must be in good academic and conduct standing with the University.
  • Must receive or be eligible to receive Federal Work Study.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Passion for ethics, civic engagement, and public policy.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Experience with event planning, marketing, or community outreach.
  • Familiarity with social media management and website maintenance (e.g., WordPress, Canva, Instagram, Facebook, X).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous experience with Ethics in the Public Sphere or similar interdisciplinary programs is a plus.
