Job Description:

Technical Skills - Applies software development and/or customization principles and standards as documented in the current IS documentation repositories.  Demonstrates core competencies for each technical area and/or tools supported.  Understands the technical architecture of the supported system(s).  Conducts technical review presentations to group(s) and clearly documents system specifications.  Prepares and implements data verification and testing methods.  Understands quality assurance/testing methodologies.  Assists with developing software integration, external interface development and technical documentation.  Completes design work in timely fashion, authoring code, unit tests, and system interoperability in a quality manner, acceptable to the customer. 

Design – Designs and documents innovative and practical solutions that solve business problems and minimize impact to customers.  Assists in design sessions with customers and other stakeholders.  Solutions ensure customer usability.  Solutions meet customer expectations and do not adversely affect others outside the intended department.  Participates in assessing design options, ,  and test plans.  Assists with providing recommendations towards the development of new code or reuse/enhancement of existing code.

Analysis – Accurately documents and validates a solution with the customer’s current business processes and/or system functionality for one or more departments across the enterprise.  Understands how systems contribute to department process and workflow.   Assists in research and fact-finding to develop or modify information systems.  Identifies and analyzes problems.  Assists in preparing detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Assists with estimating of the analysis and development effort based on requirements.

Maintenance and Support – Provides necessary on-call and support coverage with little assistance in resolving problems.  Peers review of this position’s support is considered timely and accurate.  Maintains regular customer interaction for the purpose of priority setting and to review progress on assigned items.  Plans for updates to system(s).  Manages IS downtime processes and communication for assigned systems.  Provides system support documentation for future issue resolution.  Troubleshoots applications and maintains installed systems. Reviews data loaded into the data warehouse for accuracy.  Creates, supports, and tests index and view scripts and troubleshoots existing data warehouse applications.

Project/Task Management - Applies basic project management concepts and established procedures for each supported customer group.  Builds, monitors and adjusts project plans with assistance. 

Recognizes impact within the supported customer group and within IS and takes action.  Work results in milestones met on time and quality deliverables.  Plans, executes and documents system and process test scenarios to meet project requirements and specifications such as billing, interfaces, systems integration, etc.  Resolves testing discrepancies and performance concerns prior to implementation.  Assembles and coordinates appropriate resources to ensure participation from stakeholders and their acceptance of outcomes.  Manages multiple tasks concurrently.  Assists in the development and execution of systems’ best practices across the organization.  Communicates interim development milestones to customer, via demonstration of actual code or pseudo presentation.

Expected Salary:

$68,000.00-$71,000.00

Minimum Requirements:

Associate’s degree; or a high school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:  

Familiar with common JavaScript frameworks such as Vue.js, Angular, React
Familiar with the Software development (SDLC)
Strong organization, communication, and project management skills
Writing clear, comprehensive technical documentation
Additional preferred skills:
Experience with SCRUM methodology
Experience with Python/Django and common PHP frameworks.
Experience with Software development cycle management tools (GitHub, Atlassian Suite)
