Job Description: |
- Collaborates with faculty and staff throughout the design, development, and support of Extension educational efforts in public issues education. Provides oversight to the PIE Center’s Extension efforts, such as the Center’s PIE Fellows and PIE Academy, including project scope, objectives, timeline, materials, and evaluation. Works cooperatively on the PIE Center’s Extension initiatives and programs including the Center for Rural Enterprise Engagement (CREE), the Extension Disaster Education Network (EDEN), and the Southeastern Coastal Center for Ag Health and Safety (SCCAHS). Proactively identifies opportunities for collaboration with other units. Organizes and disseminates Extension educational and outreach materials for various target audiences, in collaboration with Center faculty and staff to meet organizational needs. Works in a team environment with PIE Center faculty and staff on all aspects of educational components for Extension projects and initiatives.
- Conducts needs assessments with various audiences and prepares data-based reports and recommendations. Researches and reviews relevant articles and issues relating to program areas. Assists Center faculty in planning and enhancing effective outreach programs, including producing and developing original content for faculty to review. Identifies appropriate training sites and audiences. Aids with measuring and evaluating the effectiveness and impacts of PIE Center educational and outreach efforts. Develops logic models for the PIE Center’s Extension efforts. Implements changes to educational and outreach materials.
- Prepares educational presentations and curricula and assists in conducting training programs on behalf of the Center. Establishes a strong working relationship with Extension educators and other education/outreach partners. Represents the Center at industry and Extension functions/meetings.
- Responsible for developing policies and procedures for creating and delivering educational content and programs. Provides guidance for the design and development of training curricula, learning strategies, educational policies, or courseware standards. Participates in Center meetings and assists with other projects as directed. Participates in organization development initiatives, including change management, strategic planning, and assessments.

Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Travel required to attend and sometimes present at meetings, workshops, and conferences.

Minimum Requirements: |
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
|
Preferred Qualifications: |
Applicants should have strong written and oral communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders. A strong understanding of teaching and learning principles, methods, and technology; instructional design; program development and evaluation methods; and educational delivery strategies is expected. Knowledge of or experience in Extension activities is preferred. A working knowledge of online learning environments software is also important. Applicants should also have demonstrated proficiency with education development technology and software, such as Canvas, InDesign, Photoshop, Canva, and/or video editing software.
