Job Description:

This position is responsible for ensuring that vendors are paid in accordance with University and State of Florida rules and regulations, that expenses are paid with appropriate funding sources, and that supporting documentation is available and correct. This position will also ensure that purchase orders are closed after items are received and paid. Responsibilities include:

Reconciles PeopleSoft general ledger transactions to in-house subsidiary systems and source documentation retained in on-base system; reconciles various UF Foundation funds benefiting the College of Veterinary Medicine by monitoring and reconciling transactions at the UF Foundation with internal database transaction records.

Utilizes reporting software, such as Enterprise Analytics to generate and run various financial reports, such as payroll, source transaction, open encumbrances, and other reports as needed. Supports the Research Administration team to reconcile projects (Grants).

Maintains knowledge of PeopleSoft procedures and chartfield funding sources utilized by then College of Veterinary Medicine and Veterinary Hospital departments.

Scans/copies documents supporting financial transactions as needed into PeopleSoft or On-base. Cross-trains with other staff for various office-related duties.

Other duties as assigned.

Expected Salary:

$16.00 - $18.00 an hour

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and three years of general accounts transaction experience. Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Experience with PeopleSoft
• Skilled in data collection and report preparation
• Proficient with PC applications
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Ability to utilize problem solving techniques
• Ability to analyze and interpret accounting data
• Ability to understand and apply rules, regulations, policies and procedures of accounting programs
• Detail oriented
