Job Description:

The University of Florida is seeking an Admissions Officer to join the Office of Admissions in supporting our mission to recruit, enroll, and retain a community of leaders and thinkers who will contribute to the state of Florida and the nation. In this role, you will coordinate and deliver campus tours, ensuring a high-quality experience for all visitors, and assist with various admissions-related tasks.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Campus Tour Coordination 

  • Design and coordinate individual or group campus tours for specific audiences.
  • Ensure each group receives a personalized and meaningful experience.
  • Work with campus offices to schedule visits, prepare agendas, and operate a state vehicle.
  • Provide a consistent, high-quality tour experience.

Welcome Center Operations

  • Assist with the recruitment, training, and retention of student workers and tour guides.
  • Assist with Welcome Center operations, including planning, coordinating, and executing all campus tours and information sessions.

Admissions Counseling and Application Review

  • Provide general admissions counseling and freshman holistic application review.
  • Advise departments and applicants via phone, email, and in person about additional credentials such as transcripts, test scores, application fees, and supporting documents.

Additional Duties

  • Deliver admissions presentations to campus visitors as needed.
  • Assist with special projects or support other areas within the Office of Admissions, which may include occasional out-of-town travel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

 

Expected Salary:

$47,500 annually

Minimum Requirements:

Master’s degree in an appropriate area; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience.

Valid Driver License is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to present in front of a large audience
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work and communicate across a variety of stakeholders both within Enrollment Management and campus-wide
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and work with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated abilities in problem-solving and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
