The Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering at the University of Florida invites applications for a 12-month, time-limited, non-tenure track, full-time, Research Assistant Scientist in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE). Initial appointment will be for one year, with annual reappointment based on available funding and performance.
The Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at the University of Florida (https://ece.ufl.edu/) has over 60 faculty members working in all aspects of electrical & computer engineering and is expected to grow in upcoming years. The total student population is approximately 600 with nearly 260 in the Ph.D. program.
Duties and responsibilities will include managing Security and Assurance Lab (SCAN), support ongoing projects and PhD students, developing training modules, collaborate on papers and proposals, support hardware assurance experimental course sections, mentor undergraduate student researchers, Teach 1-2 classes per year.

UF is home to Hipergator, which ranks 3rd among university supercomputers in the nation. In addition, the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering is currently implementing a major expansion of faculty and state-of-the-art research and education facilities with a focus on AI. The Malachowsky Hall for Data Science & Information Technology, a 260,000 sq feet facility that serves as the hub for Artificial Intelligence, opened in Fall 2023.
