Job Description: |
Marston Science Library is looking for one highly motivated undergraduate student to become our User Engagement Intern for Spring 2025. Marston librarians have been developing online library research guides to help students find sources when they are searching for STEM materials. We aim to make these jump start guides interactive and informative for undergraduate students. However, we have not received any direct feedback from undergraduate students on whether these guides are clear, usable, or helpful. The student selected for the User Engagement Internship in Marston Science Library will informally assess our subject guides by reviewing them, comparing with those from other institutions, and surveying their peers to identify pain points for UF undergraduate students searching for STEM information. Duties include subject guide review, survey development, data collection and analysis, creating and presenting a report of findings and suggestions for the improvement of the STEM subject guides, and meeting weekly with supervisors. At the end of the semester, the intern will present their findings to the Marston librarians to help improve all the STEM library guides.
