Job Description:

Job Duties Collegiate Veterans Success Center advance support for military students at the University of Florida. Primary duties include:  

  • Providing excellent customer service as you connect students, faculty, and family members to the resources they need.
  • Answer questions and provide information about resources available to student Veterans including the Dean of Students Office, Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution, Medical Petition Process, Veteran Affairs, and other Campus Resources.
  • Display interest and sensitivity to the unique needs of student veterans who seek support.
  • Suggest and recommend resources and programs to support student veterans.
  • Perform operational management duties within the Center including but not limited to replenishing supplies furniture arrangement, coffee replacement, cleaning of refrigerator, microwave, and general maintenance of the Center.
  • Maintains inventory spreadsheet
  • Assists in the answering of the CVSC email inbox
  • Assists with social media posting and strategy
  • Communicate any building needs to the appropriate staff personnel.
  • Provides presentations to groups- Represents the CVSC at tabling fairs and other special events.
  • Assists CVSC staff with various projects including coordinating with organizations conducting events and resource fairs, planning CVSC events, and other special operations
  • Assists with other duties as assigned to support military student engagement within the CVSC and University of Florida community.

 

Expected Salary:

13.00

Minimum Requirements:

This position is open to students with federal work study and available to work on the main campus in Gainesville.
Students must maintain a minimum of a 2.5 GPA and be enrolled for at least six credit hours a semester.
Must be able to commit to 7-15 hours per week. 
Must be able to attend any required trainings and CVSC staff meetings.

Preferred Qualifications:

Excellent verbal communication skills.
Ability to work on a team and connect with others easily/outgoing.
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Excellent attendance and punctuality
Strong interest in veteran and military-connected student experience.
