Job Description:

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Florida is inviting applicants to apply for a full time faculty position as Clinical Geneticist in the Division of Genetics and Metabolism. Our program is directed toward the diagnosis, management and care of children known or expected to have genetic and/or biochemical disorders.  You will be supported by our team that consists of 3 clinical and biochemical geneticists, 1 nurse practitioner, 5 genetic counselors, 3 metabolic nutritionists and additional clinical and administrative staff.

You will provide inpatient consultation to children and adults as well as out-patient services at various locations at the UF/Shands campus in Gainesville. You will also provide services by telemedicine to our catchment area which includes Central and Northern Florida.

You will take advantage of the many opportunities for teaching house staff and medical students and will be provided with resources and support. This is a non-tenure accruing position.

The Department of Pediatrics is committed to fostering innovation and advancing discovery in the biomedical and psychosocial aspects of child health and human development, educating and training pediatric scientists, and directly translating basic scientific discoveries into new patient-oriented therapies. In the most recent fiscal year, the department was home to over $30.5M in sponsored research.

UF Health faculty work in multidisciplinary teams with researchers in the five other Health Science Center colleges, as well as those from across the University. The focus of team efforts is often grown out of the Centers and Institutes, including the Evelyn F. and William L. Minimum Requirements:

Applicants must have a M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or other equivalent and be licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Florida in Pediatrics and be board certified /eligible in General Pediatrics or the appropriate subspecialty.
