Using field knowledge combined with the necessary tools, equipment, meters, and computers, assist and/or install, operate, and/or adjust pneumatic and digital building automation and control system controllers with their associated components (sensors, actuators, relays, transducers, valves, variable frequency drives, controllers, etc.) both connected to a network or “stand alone” for, but not limited to, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC); heating hot water; chilled water; steam; etc.; to maintain an energy efficient, safe, and comfortable environment in laboratories, offices, classrooms, etc.
Assist/install control panels and sensors and troubleshoots and repairs building-automation-system field cabinets, including communications equipment, printed circuit boards, power supplies, electrical/electronic controls, sensors, and transducers; Assists the Building Automation Technician II/III in performing necessary commissioning, diagnostic, and maintenance procedures (such as field verification of system functions to ensure the proper operation of building automation systems; Assists the Building Automation Technician II/III in editing computer programs for building-automation-system points (such as defining point acronyms, setting up trends and alarms, and/or soliciting alarm specifications from operating personnel.
Enter maintenance data via the work order system for work requests (WR) and time. Provide support services to other trades (e.g., properly route or phase WR) as may be required for the timely and efficient repair of buildings and/or equipment. Obtain parts from Centrals Stores for assigned WR. Clean and maintain shop, work areas, and personal equipment. With oversight, monitor inventory, research and order supplies and parts. Provide support service to other trades, as may be required for timely and efficient repair of buildings and/or equipment.
Employee drives a state vehicle that requires a valid driver license.
Requires a Criminal background check and post-offer health assessment.
NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE:
Work hours - Monday – Friday, 7: 00 am – 3:30pm.
Emergency work as needed; works On-Call as required.

Preferred Qualifications: |
KNOWLEDGE OF:
Instrumentation installation, calibration, maintenance, and/or repair of building automation systems.
SKILLED IN:
Mechanical, Electrical, or HVAC installation, service or troubleshooting.
ABILITY TO:
Basic computer skills, windows file structure, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.), and understand basic networking.
