The Department of Mathematics at the University of Florida seeks to fill two Visiting Assistant Professor positions, beginning August 16, 2025. These are nine-month, time-limited (renewable for up to three years), non-tenure-accruing positions. The area of specialization is open, but preference will be given to applicants whose research interests align with those of current faculty.

The teaching assignment is 2-2 with the possibility of 2-1 subject to course demands and available resources. Active participation in the department’s research activities is expected. A Ph.D. in the mathematical sciences or a closely related field is required. Candidates with strong promise in research and teaching are encouraged to apply.
Those hired will join a vibrant department of approximately 60 faculty and 85 graduate students pursuing research in a broad array of pure and applied areas (https://math.ufl.edu/).
Over the past several years the University has made significant investments in faculty and infrastructure, adding hundreds of new faculty lines and upgrading classroom and laboratory facilities. The University is home to HiPerGator, one of the most powerful high-performance computers at a US public university (https://www.rc.ufl.edu/about/hipergator/), and recently added the new AI NVIDIA GPU SuperPod (https://news.ufl.edu/2020/07/nvidia-partnership/) in support of the AI initiative, which aims to expand the role of AI in higher education and research (https://ai.ufl.edu). These facilities are available to all faculty on campus to enhance their teaching and research.
