Job Description:

The Department of Pharmacodynamics is seeking a Scientific Laboratory Manager. 

Job Duties Include

Lab Management:
- Oversees day-to-day activities of laboratory research
- Delegates experiment/research tasks to lab personnel
- Directly supervises lab staff and post docs as research activities are conducted
- Monitor performance of quality control systems to ensure effectiveness and efficiency
- Direct research efforts towards specific aims as outlined in grant applications and consult with research teams and/or necessary outside agencies

Research Development: 
- Conduct and design biochemical, cell biological and in vivo mouse experiments techniques
- Analyzes data and prepares written reports of results
- Construct research reports designed for peer reviewed journals and grant applications respectively

Compliance 
- Ensures compliance with federal rules and regulations
- Responsible for the creation, modification and submission of new and existing protocols to the IACUC for approval of all experiments
- Supervises lab members in the research group to ensure compliance with Institutional and Federal regulations

Expected Salary:

$78,000 - $85,000

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience. Appropriate college course work may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree or higher in Biological Science

Adequate prior experience of working in a research laboratory
