Job Description: 

Implement the UF COI Policy and lead the office’s related workflows and reviews, including administering the eDisclose System. Review and approve disclosures, agreements and protocols. Reviews include State Statue Exemptions, Prior Approval Requests, Annual Disclosures and Conflicts of Commitment

Manage the COI Committees, including preparing the agendas, training and onboarding Committee members, documenting Committee decisions and minutes, communicating Committee decisions to other sponsors and other compliance committees, ensuring adherence to Committee procedures and determining items appropriate for administrative and Committee review.

Provide training on Prior Approval Requests and Disclosure requirements to UF employees, including students, staff and faculty. Responsible for providing training to the two committees administered by the COI Program, compliance analysts, research administrators and central office staff.

Provide direct supervision and mentoring to professional Compliance Analysts, and mentorship to other department staff. Provide direction and guidance as needed and create and oversee work assignments for the team.

Draft policy, guidance, and responsive correspondence supporting COI mitigation efforts. Write and propagate informational materials and guides for faculty and department staff. Understand and remain up-to-date with UF, state, and federal laws, regulations, and policies.

Actively participate in national organizations, attend national conferences and educational seminars, and review federal and state regulatory updates and other resource materials in order to remain abreast of national and any state trends in research compliance. Advise the Associate Director, and Director and UF Compliance administrators on national trends and enforcement activities affecting the research enterprise including global activities. Prepare appropriate communications for affected faculty and staff, in consultation with key offices.

Expected Salary:

Salary commensurate with experience and expertise.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and four years of experience in appropriate area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Masters degree or JD.
• Supervisory experience with multiple direct reports.
• Experience understanding complex regulations and applying them in an academic setting. 
• Experience working with university faculty and staff.
• Research administration or compliance experience in an academic or federal regulatory setting.
• Preparation of research conflict of interest management plans
• Presenting COI mitigation to senior administration for their review and approval
• Familiarity with FS 112.313 and the exemptions to Sections 3 and 7
• Experience providing guidance to faculty and staff regarding outside activity disclosure and relevant federal, state and university policies
