Job Description:

Participant Recruitment and Data Collection: Position is responsible for a large portion of participant recruitment and study design, from physician referrals at the Springhill clinic, fliers, direct mailers, and word of mouth. This position will complete consenting process, collect blood and saliva samples, assist in data collection, and schedule participants for study protocols. Data collection for this role will include completing the participant assessment using the Autism Diagnostic Observations Scale (ADOS). The individual will be trained to administer this instrument in a research reliable manner. This role will coordinate with providers for participant management and include weekly meeting attendance for participant recruitment updates. This position will also correspond with potential participants via phone to discuss eligibility criteria and procedures of offsite participation. Training research staff and undergraduate researchers, on the study protocols.

Coordination of Research Project assisting: Will assist in monitoring important dates and milestones for the research projects, such as replenishing subject payments, IRB renewals, and similar items. Will coordinate with other research staff to maintain project functioning including, recruitment goals, data quality, IRB compliance and online instrument functionality. Will work with volunteers to provide daily tasks and observe to ensure they are completed correctly.

Data Management: This position will have the responsibility of overseeing the integrity of the data scoring and entry. Management of hard copy research files and their data entry into the appropriate database is a top priority for data management. This position will also develop or assist in the development of new forms and items for data entry either electronic or paper versions.

Expected Salary:

$45,000 - $49,000

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience administering structured clinical assessments for research.
  • Experience working with children and/or psychiatric populations.
  • Ability to work independently, interact professionally and possess effective writing, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with MS excel, word and Access.
  • Experience with online databases and/or collection such as REDCap or similar programs.
  • Experience with statistical software such as SPSS and Stata.
  • Experience or desire to learn phlebotomy
  • Previous experience working on a research project; paid or volunteer including participant interaction and/or recruitment.
