Job Description:

The SHCC is seeking to fill the position of Manager of IT Services. The incumbent will be responsible for all aspects of the IT Department at SHCC and serve as liaison between UF and UF Health IT. This position directly involves SHCC clinical team leads. It will operate closely with the SHCC leadership team, offering technical knowledge and insight as it applies to the organization's daily operations and strategic planning.

The University of Florida Student Health Care Center (SHCC), Department of Community Health and Family Medicine (CHFM) is an outpatient clinic that serves the healthcare needs of on-campus and remote students attending the University of Florida. SHCC is an accredited healthcare organization with the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. (AAAHC), meeting nationally recognized standards of excellence in its policies and practices. SHCC houses multiple specialties to facilitate the goal of providing students with quality and accessible health services.

Technical Leadership:

  • Provide excellent customer service and direct SHCC staff on desktop support, applications, EMR, and other software/hardware.
  • Identify, evaluate, and resolve complex IT issues within the SHCC clinics and administrative offices.
  • Prepare and execute long and short-range plans for applications, systems development, systems maintenance, and support resources.
  • Oversee network and infrastructure within SHCC, coordinating with UF Health or UF IT teams.
  • Manage the provision of hardware and software based on SHCC needs and user requirements.
  • Serve as the IT liaison between SHCC, UF Health IT, and UF IT to align processes and security standards.
  • Establish processes and standards for SHCC software and hardware purchases within budgetary constraints.
  • Engage with SHCC, COM, UF Health, and UF stakeholders to plan and forecast technology projects in alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Lead and organize project planning, development, and implementation for cross-campus applications and systems.

Leadership and Supervision:

  • Manage and mentor SHCC IT support staff, fostering professional growth and team morale.
  • Coordinate staff activities, including scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing subordinate employees.
  • Facilitate meetings with executive management and leadership across UF organizations, including COM, UF Health IT, and UF IT.

Strategic Planning:

  • Formulate, communicate, and execute IT strategies with the SHCC Director and leadership team to improve systems and infrastructure.
  • Participate in departmental and project budget planning, providing input on IT needs and projected costs.
  • Support SHCC, UF Health, and UF technical strategic initiatives by organizing policy, procedures, and goals to manage organizational changes.
  • Attend SHCC leadership meetings, executive committee meetings, and supervisor meetings as required.

Other Duties:

  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support SHCC and its IT operations.

Expected Salary:

$110-$130K

Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree and two years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree and four years of relevant experience; or an associate’s degree and six years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Broad experience in all aspects of IT, including information security protocols, preferably in academic and/or healthcare settings.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Self-motivated
  • Prior UF Supervisory experience preferred
  • Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Demonstrated leadership, management, and teamwork skills.
  • Competency in formulating and auditing appropriate technology performance indicators for IT solutions and infrastructure.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the latest IT applications, systems, etc.
  • Ability to explain highly technical concepts in simple terms; willingness to teach others. Knowledge of computer security best practices and UF security policies
