Job Description:

PrismaP is a multi-disciplinary laboratory focused on developing and providing sustainable support and leadership for transformative medical AI research, education, and clinical applications to advance patients' health in critical and acute care medicine. The Lab addresses an unprecedented opportunity for world-leading ambient, immersive, and artificial intelligence (AI2) research and innovation to transform the diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment for critically and acutely ill patients using the multimodal clinical and research data and resources from UF Health (UFH), one of Florida’s largest health care systems.

We are looking for motivated and qualified graduate students to join our team and contribute to developing a real-time pervasive sensing pipeline using Kafka for our Intelligent Hospital Digital Twin project, supporting transformative medical AI research and clinical applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Data Management and Structure:
    • Determine data formats, frequency of data collection, and required data storage structures for efficient and accurate data handling.
  • Risk Assessment and Infrastructure Evaluation:
    • Collaborate with UF Health IT to assess risks and evaluate the existing IT infrastructure, ensuring it supports the deployment of a Kafka-based data streaming pipeline.
  • Network and Kafka Deployment:
    • Set up a robust and secure network infrastructure for real-time data transmission. Plan, configure, and deploy Kafka clusters, including hardware and software requirements, and perform end-to-end testing of the streaming pipeline.
Expected Salary:

$18/hr

Minimum Requirements:
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL for data analysis and automation.
  • Experience with Linux data servers and managing real-time data streaming services, including Apache Kafka.
  • Knowledge in building and maintaining real-time ETL pipelines.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with system management tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data security and compliance standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
