Job Description:

The University of Florida’s Innovation Academy (IA) invites applications for instructors to teach the two-credit Creativity and Design Thinking for Innovation course (IDS 1940) for the spring semester. This is a part-time (0.16 FTE) non-tenure accruing Adjunct Faculty position.

We seek applicants who have a passion for teaching in active learning environments and have knowledge and skills in creativity, design thinking, innovation, prototyping, and pitching. The ideal candidate for this course will be open to teaching with a common syllabus, skilled at facilitating hands-on learning activities in the physical classroom, and willing to attend pre-semester training sessions followed by bi-weekly faculty team meetings. IA holds a commitment to personalized attention for our students. Each section is capped at 25 students. Faculty will have access to common lecture and discussion resources to assist with content. Expected Salary:

Adjuncts will be paid per class taught on a bi-weekly basis, $4,600 per section.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Master's degree required
  • Knowledge of human centered design thinking process
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching active learning or flipped classroom courses
  • Willingness to actively engage with and collaborate with a team of innovative faculty using a common syllabus and course content
Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of/experience utilizing Adobe Illustrator, laser cutting, Fusion 360, 3D modeling, Arduino

• Experience facilitating course content through Canvas or other LMS
