EDUCATION & TRAINING:
Valid Florida driver license
EXPERIENCE:
- At least five (5) years of electrical experience; appropriate vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Completion of an accredited Apprenticeship program
KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of procedures and methods for installing, altering, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures
- Knowledge of hand tools use
- Knowledge of planning, organizing, and coordinating work assignments
- Knowledge of effective communications
- Knowledge of electrical trade and testing equipment (e.g., voltmeters, ohmmeters, and clamp-on-meters)
- Knowledge of bending and installing conduit and install in accordance with the NEC
SKILLS
- Skill in installing, altering, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures
- Skill in using hand tools
ABILITIES
- Ability to recognize safe working practices in maintenance and construction
- Ability to follow established safety practices and procedures
- Ability to recognize the proper materials and equipment to be used for a specific job
- Ability to make changes in materials and equipment to be used for a specific job
- Ability to recognize the different types of conduit benders and how they are used
- Ability to plan, organize, coordinate work assignments
- Ability to communicate effectively
PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to wear appropriate safety equipment
- Ability to work in attics, basements, crawl spaces, and similar places
- Ability to work from elevated surfaces (e.g., as catwalks and manlifts)
- Ability to drive or walk to customer/trouble locations
- Ability to move or lift weights (e.g., ladders, tools, and equipment) weighing up to 50 pounds individually, or 100 pounds with assistance
- Ability to climb
- Ability to reaching above shoulder frequently
- Ability to kneel
- Ability to bend repeatedly
- Ability to pull and push repetitively
