Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Disseminate innovative practices for the adoption, integration, and creation of Open Educational Resources (OER), eTextbooks, and open-source tools.
  • Conduct research in collaboration with faculty on affordability, access, and quality of educational resources.
  • Coordinate the textbook adoption process and generate ensuing reports.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop resources, processes, trainings, and support.

Specific Duties:

  • Coordinate affordability and access opportunities for faculty and campus units, including individual consultations.
  • Create workflows for the adoption, adaptation, and creation of high-quality affordable learning materials and tools.
  • Monitor emerging trends to identify and promote appropriate affordable content initiatives.
  • Monitor university-wide textbook adoptions and ensure at least 95% of all textbooks and instructional materials are submitted at least 45 days before the start of each term.
  • Coordinate completion of the annual BOG Textbook and Instructional Materials Report to ensure compliance with Florida Statues.
  • Create and/or coordinate all Affordable UF projects and initiatives, including trainings and faculty learning communities.
  • Establish project goals and monitor progress to ensure project completion, including budget and expenditures.
  • Investigate and seek additional funding opportunities to increase textbook affordability at UF.
  • Develop program budgets and monitor/submit expenditures.
  • Collaborate with content experts to design professional development programming regarding open educational practices.
  • Develop and design learning aids including instructional guides and web content.
  • Create and facilitate ongoing workshops to help faculty and TAs integrate affordable options into teaching and innovative pedagogies.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training materials to ensure objectives are accomplished.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, such as developing and revising written content for CTE and supporting other CTE initiatives.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on teaching excellence and textbook affordability at the University.

Expected Salary:

$61,000 - $65,000 annually; commensurate with education and experience. 

Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree or Ph.D. in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience plus faculty or adjunct postsecondary teaching experience.
