Job Description:

The Department of Medicine is seeking a self-motivated, collaborative, analytical, detail-oriented individual to assist with annual budget preparation, monthly departmental reporting and provide fiscal/accounting guidance to our fiscal shared services team and division staff.  The incumbent will need to understand cost accounting and revenue generation in the medical profession in order to leverage data and identify trends impacting division and department financials. Organization, attention to detail, exceptional time management, and outstanding communication skills are essential for success.

Essential Functions;

Supervisor for the departmental fiscal shared services team responsible for processing all operating expenses for the Department of Medicine.  Fiscal transactions include pcard transactions, vouchers, JEs, and travel – as well as contracting and POs for major capital purchases.  Assists team with fiscal compliance related issues. Works with Finance Manager on Internal Audit responses and corrective actions. Serve as point of contact for all audits. Monitors transactions to address division level compliance and training needs.  Ensures that fiscal transactions are completed in timely manner and when necessary serves as back-up processor.

Serve as a liaison to division administrators, fiscal, grant and personnel staff in the department; disseminate information to the unit and serves as a unit resource for databases, word processing, reporting, policies, and procedures This requires an understanding of and the ability to apply the rules associated with various University fund types (E&G Appropriations; Grants; Direct Support Organizations; etc.) and University finance and accounting directives and procedures and FCPA accounting procedures.

Assists in the coordination of the department’s annual budget and budget entry. Analyze budgeted funding, actual funding and update distributions/expenditures accordingly.  Provide information in support of the budget to supervisors as required.
 20% With direction from department leadership, manages the department’s Gatorade and Foundation reporting.  This includes annual deposits to approved projects, tracking commitments and encumbrances, royalty reports to leadership and annual reconciliation.  Assists with the annual trust reports and submissions required per UFF guidelines.

Expected Salary:

$65,000 - $75,000 annually

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Working knowledge of accounting controls and principles.
Experience using Enterprise Analytics/Enterprise reporting and health care analytic tools.
Experience in Microsoft Office product and other electronic web-based systems including SharePoint, Access, and Excel. 
Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments effectively.
