Job Description:

Center for Inclusion & Multicultural Engagement (CIME) Ambassadors are student leaders and paraprofessionals who are dedicated to support the mission and vision of CIME by providing customer service and administrative support in any of our 6 centers and through programming and community building across each of the areas.

 

We seek Federal Work Study recipients who are interested in enhancing UF's commitment to community building and the engagement of all our students through our areas: Office of Asian Pacific Islander Desi Student Engagement, Office of Black Student Engagement, Hispanic-Latinx Student Engagement, LGBTQ+ Student Engagement, and Operations & Engagement Team.

 

The following are the essential job functions:

 

  • Staff the front desk of one of our 6 centers: (Office of Asian Pacific- Islander Student Engagement; Office Of Black Student Engagement “Black Enrichment Center”, Office of Hispanic Latinx Student Engagement “La Salita”; Institute of Black Culture, Institute of Hispanic & Latino Cultures “La Casita”, Office of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual Transgender & Queer Student Engagement “Rainbow Suite”) and the CIME front desk during the weekday, (10:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
  • Staff the CIME Front Desk and refer students and staff to appropriate areas as needed by Administrative Assistance. (8:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
  • Table for Preview and other tabling opportunities
  • Conduct tours of CIME Suite and each area as needed by patrons
  • Assist with CIME initiatives and programs
  • Plan and coordinate initiatives in one or more of the CIME areas above in collaboration with the Graduate Assistant & Director in the area
  • Attend monthly CIME staff meetings and area meetings determined by the Director
  • Perform other duties as assigned by area
Expected Salary:

$12.00 per hour
Minimum Requirements:

Be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate (minimum of 12 credits) student during the current semester and throughout applicant’s term.

Provide documentation of Federal Work Study.

Commit to two consecutive semesters with the CIME Ambassador program.

Be prepared to commit an average of 10 hours per week with a minimum of 8 hours per week

Maintain a 2.5 cumulative G.P.A.

Be in good academic and disciplinary standing with the University with no repeated violations of University Code of Student Conduct.

Commit to participate in staff trainings and attend all regularly scheduled staff meetings
Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrate previous experience with customer service

Proficient with verbal and written communication

Demonstrate attention to professionalism, dependability, and timeliness
