The Bartlett Group at the Department of Chemistry, University of Florida (UF), Gainesville, FL invites applications for a Postdoctoral Associate position in Quantum Chemistry. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Graduate Research Professor Bartlett in the Quantum Theory Project, focusing on extensions of coupled cluster theory and its unitary forms, with an eye toward quantum computing. This one-year appointment is renewable based on performance and funding availability.
Successful candidates must have a Ph. D. and have published several refereed papers in the field. The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for conducting independent research under Dr. Bartlett’s guidance. The Postdoctoral Researcher will also be expected to mentor undergraduate and graduate students, cooperate with other postdoctoral students, and other collaborators around the world, while assisting in funding applications.

| Preferred Qualifications: |
Previous experience with coupled cluster methods and its unitary forms
Familiarity with electronic structure techniques, including mean-field approximations
Knowledge of quantum computing algorithms
Experience in implementing new quantum theory methods into general purpose computer programs
A strong track record of publications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and in a team
Ability to take initiatives, set priorities, time-manage, and resolve problems
