Job Description:

The Department of Applied Physiology and Kinesiology (APK) at the University of Florida (UF) is seeking applications for an Assistant Scientist to perform human research in the area of motor and cognitive decline.  Duties include writing grants, writing manuscripts, data analysis, project management, and submitting grant applications.  Significant experience in grant writing is required.  A Ph.D degree and at least three (3) years of postdoctoral research experience in the above research area are required. Skills in imaging analysis, machine learning, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and other neurodegenerative disorders are are strongly desired. The Department is one of the premier applied physiology and kinesiology programs in the world. Currently, it employs 30 full-time faculty and enrolls approximately 1,100 students (~825 undergraduate, 333 graduate). The department has state-of-the-art research facilities, which include 8,869 sq. ft. for animal research and 7,839 sq. ft. for human research. Shared laboratory space is available to support the candidate alongside shared core facilities with cutting-edge equipment for immunohistochemistry, muscle physiology, molecular biology, and biochemical analyses. Expected Salary:

Minimum Requirements:

Candidates must have an earned Ph.D. degree in kinesiology, physiology, engineering, or a closely related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications: Candidates should have 3 years or more post-doctoral research experience in related field and research experience in neuroimaging.
