Job Description:

This role serves as project manager, department relations coordinator, and a point of contact between the Health and Wellbeing portfolio and Student Life Marketing & Strategic Communications’ central services to assist in ensuring consistency in requests, timelines, and deliverables focused on achieving both short and long-term organizational goals.

Strategic coordination of health communication and marketing collateral used to educate, and influence health behaviors, participation, and the utilization of the programs, services

  • Collaborate with leadership in the development of marketing materials for the Health and Wellbeing portfolio by identifying health communication needs based on relevant and thorough research.
  • Lead the production of health communication in alignment with the overall divisional, portfolio, and departmental strategic plans, ensuring consistency and effectiveness.
  • Observe social, economic, and political trends that may impact the portfolio, providing recommendations to enhance our image based on these trends.
  • Work collaboratively with various sources to create a variety of impactful marketing methods, ensuring a comprehensive approach to reaching the target audience.
  • Obtain relevant information from the Health and Wellbeing portfolio, including product and organizational details, budget constraints, and marketing goals to tailor communication and marketing strategies effectively.

Develop and supervise project management and workflow for completion of marketing or health communication needs

  • Determine workflow for project requests, set appropriate timelines, ensure communication about project progress; follow-up/follow-through on completion of projects
  • Confer with Health and Wellbeing portfolio to discuss and determine layout design and goals for communication and marketing pieces; identify and communicate complex project issues.
  • Oversee recruitment, hiring, training, managing, supervision, and evaluation of student staff and interns.
  • Manage creative services requests for information, materials, and promotional items managed by marketing areas and complete as required.
  • Coordinate with Student Life Marketing & Communication central services to assist with strategy related to graphic design, web development, videography, photography, social media, public relations, etc.
  • Manage marketing-related archive files for the department including but not limited to media clippings, image files, design files, and backup of all digital files.

Assess communication and marketing efforts for success

  • Evaluate communication and marketing efforts, ensuring they align with public relations efforts and contribute to portfolio objectives.
  • Devise and evaluate methods and procedures for collecting data, such as surveys, polls, or message testing, or arrange to obtain existing data.
  • Analyze data to inform and contribute to the optimization of communication strategies across multiple platforms and audiences.

 

Apply brand standards and best practices.

  • Regularly plan and assist with health communication to students, staff, alumni and community stakeholders through electronic and print media including websites, publications, social media.
  • Build and maintain an understanding of the department’s events, programs, services, and target markets to assist in implementing effective marketing campaigns.
  • Create, proof, and work with Student Life Marketing & Strategic Communications for written materials, including marketing campaigns, press releases, and content for general design projects.
  • Create and manage content calendar for digital marketing and work in collaboration with Student Life Marketing & Strategic Communications to align calendar to department, division, and university goals and priorities.   

 

Manage and assist with communicating to external vendors.

  • Develop and maintain vendor relations to assist with building and protecting the UF, Division of Student Life, and Health and Wellbeing portfolio brand standards.
  • Prepare artwork files for print and meet vendor specifications
  • Responsible for purchasing various marketing materials (e.g., print materials, signage, environmental design materials) with third-party vendors


Perform other related functions and projects.

  • Serve on Division of Student Life or University of Florida committees as needed
  • Serve as a member of the Student Life Marketing Event Coverage Team as needed
Expected Salary:

$60,000 

Minimum Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree and four years of relevant experience; or an Associate’s degree and six years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations/communications, graphic design, or advertising
  • Demonstrated experience in creating and managing health communication campaigns, social marketing strategies, content creation, and digital engagement.
  • Project management experience; ability to manage multiple projects and perform efficiently in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating and competing priorities
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in managing printing processes and pre-press production requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in brand management 

SKILLS

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) and Canvas
  • Demonstrated proficiency in social media platforms
  • Demonstrated experience in website design
  • Communication skills (verbal and written); demonstrated proficiency and excellence in writing and editing
  • Highly proficient in print-related applications and techniques
  • Proficiency in data collection and assessment tools such as Qualtrics
  • Demonstrated planning and organization skills
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyze problems, conduct research, and implement solutions.
  • Supervisory and organizational skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders, on campus and in the community.

Additional Information

SUPERVISION

  • May provide direct and indirect supervision of part-time, and student staff within the area of responsibility.
  • Flexibility to adjust schedule may be required (including occasional evenings and weekends) depending on the demands of the position and/or department needs.
