ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
Azure Data Infrastructure Management
- Design, implement, and manage the Azure data infrastructure to support Center’s database designs, or overall architecture.
- Collaborate with UFIT services to align with centralized services.
- Ensure data security, compliance, and scalability.
- Manage and maintain production and non-production databases.
Application Management
- Develop, test, and maintain full stack applications using JavaScript, Python, Java, React, .Net, Node.js.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new features using Agile methodologies.
- Work with APIs and LTI to ensure seamless integration with external systems and educational tools.
- Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
- Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.
Systems Storage and Administration
- Oversee storage solutions, including recovery.
- Administer system configurations, updates, and monitoring.
- Coordinate with vendors for hardware and software procurement.
- May perform capacity analysis, monitor and control use of IT resources.
- Responsible for the preparation and modification of technical and capacity documentation.
Coordination with UFIT and External Vendors
- Act as a liaison between the Center, UFIT services, and external vendors.
- Coordinate and manage centralized services and integrations.
- Facilitate risk assessment processes for internal and external applications.

To achieve this, the Lastinger Center offers a flexible, hybrid work schedule that aligns with the university’s Flexibility in the Workplace Policy. Allowing employees to stagger arrival and departure times as necessary and to vary the number of workdays in the office so long as an employee’s FTE commitment is fulfilled within the university workweek. This policy also allows for occasional, incidental remote work based on individual circumstances.
