The University of Florida Institute for Child Health Policy and the Department of Health Outcomes and Biomedical Informatics, College of Medicine, seeks applicants for a full-time faculty position as an Assistant Scientist, with a working title of Survey Methodologist. The position requires the candidate to work independently as a scientist while also collaborating with other social and behavioral scientists, health professionals, and health policy experts on the design, coordination, and implementation of program evaluation research. The position scope includes federal and state funded projects that evaluate access to and quality of care for beneficiaries enrolled in Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program. The Department more broadly has an interest in health disparities in access to and quality of care, social determinants of health, and implementation science. We are seeking a social/behavioral scientist/health services researcher with strong study design, data collection, and analytical skills in survey research. Candidates with demonstrated expertise in public health insurance policy, the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) surveys, and qualitative research methods are preferred. This position will supervise research support staff across multiple survey projects.

This Chemist II will be based in McCarty Hall A (at the Main Campus in Gainesville, FL) and will be advised by Dr. Jonathan Judy in the Soil, Water and Ecosystem Sciences Department. This position will be linked to the operation of departmental core labs. The successful candidate will work almost exclusively in the lab, though opportunities may exist to support field activities if the successful candidate is interested. The successful candidate will have experience in the operation of ICP-MS and metals analysis in general. The successful candidate will join a welcoming research program where work-life balance is a priority. The expected near-term throughput/number of samples to be analyzed in our lab is relatively small compared to many operations and as a result, this position is being offered at 0.75 FTE. However, the potential exists to scale this position up to 1.0 FTE in the future.

The position of Core Research Facility Technician III in the Interdisciplinary Center for Biotechnology (ICBR) requires training in molecular biology with hands on experience in DNA library construction for the Illumina and Oxford NanoPore (ONT) next-generation sequencing (NGS) platforms.
