Position Summary: The University of Florida is recruiting for a Part-Time (.8 FTE) to Full-Time (1.0 FTE), Associate Program Director and Clinical Assistant/Associate/Full Professor. As the Associate Residency Training Program Director (APD), the appointee will provide training, guidance, and mentorship to general Psychiatry residents, under the leadership of the Residency Program Director. The appointee will also provide high-quality inpatient and outpatient pediatric behavioral health services within the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry division.
Key responsibilities as APD include overseeing clinical quality services, assisting with program administration, and providing training, mentorship, and instruction to general psychiatry residents. The successful candidate will also ensure compliance with ACGME requirements and collaborate closely with the Residency Program Director. Furthermore, the role includes providing inpatient and outpatient pediatric behavioral health services, managing complex cases, conducting thorough assessments, developing treatment plans, and ensuring continuity of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Residency Program Director on general psychiatry trainee rotations and program administration, ensuring compliance with ACGME requirements.
- Training and mentoring residents and fellows.
- Provide direct patient care and engage in clinical teaching.
- Foster scholarly collaboration within and across clinical departments.
- Encourage and participate in interdisciplinary research initiatives.

Minimum Requirements: |
Applicants must have a M.D. or D.O. degree, be licensed in or eligible for medical licensure in the State of Florida, have completed residency in psychiatry and fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry, and be board certified in child and adolescent psychiatry. Experience in working with student learners and residents is required.

Preferred Qualifications: |
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
- Board Certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
- Eligibility for licensure in Florida.
- Demonstrated leadership and administrative experience in an academic or clinical setting.
- Experience in mentoring, programs or curriculum development, and teaching.
- Proven experience working with student learners, residents, and child fellows.
- Demonstrated ability to engage in clinical and scholarly collaborations at institutional and national levels.
- Strong commitment to clinical teaching and patient care.

Faculty in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Florida are engaged in groundbreaking projects covering a variety of interests through our Centers, labs, and collaborations with other departments. Department Psychiatry includes a large outpatient center with various specialty clinics within (including one associated with our Center for Autism and Neurodevelopment), a very active inpatient service, psychiatry collaborative program for primary care practitioners, school consultation program, and community consultation services. The Department of Psychiatry spans services across adult, addiction, and child/adolescent specializations, including a freestanding psychiatric hospital, a large consult liaison service at the main UF Shands Hospital, the Florida Recovery Center operated by our Addiction Division, and multiple research centers including the Center for Addiction Research & Education and the Center for OCD and Related Disorders (COARD).
