Job Description: |

Able to prepare and hook up patients for polysomnography, perform and score sleep studies according to AASM criteria

Able to set up, operate, maintain and troubleshoot the polysomnographic and other related equipment during research study

Follow lab processes and procedures and take instruction/guidance from senior research team members

Able and comfortable using new technology as part of preparing patients for polysomnography and scoring sleep studies
Data Collection and Reporting
Lab Safety and Adherence:

Read, comprehend, and implement lab requirements listed in protocols and lab manuals
-
Maintain patient rooms by cleaning and disinfecting according to industry codes/ standards
-
Maintain organization of immediate working area and stockrooms
-
Provide a safe/comfortable environment for the study participant
-
Adhere to safety standards for the facility, participant rooms, and unit areas and research study protocols
Performs other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications: |
An Associate Degree in Applied Science or the equivalent in Clinical Neurophysiology or Respiratory Care Program is preferred.
Working in an AASM accredited lab or academic research environment
Experience scoring sleep studies
A customer-service orientation and/or experience working with older adults
Committed to participant protection and privacy
Must have basic a understanding of relevant physiology
Familiar with regulations surrounding research participant recruitment, including human-subject protection, and health studies.
Knowledge of current medical terminology to perform and communicate laboratory tests.
Knowledge of laboratory equipment and understand information about instrumentation in laboratory field.
Good human relations and communication skills required to interact effectively with patients, explain tests and provide a relaxing environment.
Familiar with Microsoft Office Word, Outlook, and data analysis software (Excel)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to meet tight deadlines and flexibility as expectations and deadlines shift.
Experience drawing blood, performing vitals assessments, and ECGs
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and communicate reasonable expectations regarding workflow, deadlines and deliverables.
Ability to plan, execute and complete work assignments independently, efficiently and accurately while working as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-profile, multidisciplinary work environment.
