Job Description:

The Florida Museum of Natural History is looking for a part time science writer to work 20 hours per week. This is an in-person position that covers museum research on evolution, biodiversity, conservation, deep time, climate change, archaeology and ancient cultures. While a science background is not necessary, curiosity, an interest in natural history and the ability to translate technical language for a public audience are required.  The selected applicant will help develop story ideas, write press releases and features, contribute to long-term communication projects, carry out administrative duties and work closely with several departments within the museum.

Expected Salary:

$22 per hour

Minimum Requirements:

Applicants must possess strong communication and editing skills, knowledge of AP style and be detail oriented.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with LaTex, Wordpress and Adobe are a plus.
