Job Description:

Under the supervision of the Assistant Manager - LA Reproduction and the Service Clinicians, this position assists our ambulatory doctors and in the treatment of horses out in the field and will travel to farms throughout the day. Duties include: provides assistance to clinicians, professional staff and students; patient handling, driving, facilitating client and interdepartmental communication, ensuring efficiency and organization of the assigned service, and recovery of charges. Will maintain the ambulatory vehicles, replenish supplies and maintain a sanitary and functionally well-organized service. May also assist with the in-hospital reproduction cases as needed, including other large animal species.
These functions are not all-inclusive nor do they cover the full extent of the duties performed.
• Handle, manipulate, and restrain horses in the course of their medical evaluations, treatments, procedures and care.
• Independently sets up, maintains and ensures proper storage of specialized equipment.
• Provides clinical service support by maintaining an optimal supply inventory, orders and replenishes stock, maintains clean/sanitary and functionally organized clinical service areas. Cleans, fuels and ensures vehicles are stocked and ready for ambulatory visits.
• Assist in providing support to faculty veterinarians in the delivery and instruction of specialty care as directed.
• Administers medications, collects, prepares, and submits laboratory samples, captures and inputs fees for materials and services.
• Assist Service clinicians with paperwork, including record keeping, dispensing medications and client communications and documentation.

Expected Salary:

$18.00-23.00

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and one year of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with equine reproduction in a veterinary setting.
