We are seeking a Center of Excellence (CoE) Coordinator to join our dynamic team at the UF Norman Fixel Institute for Neurological Diseases. This is a multifaceted role that involves coordinating clinical care, research studies, and regulatory management for multidisciplinary clinics focused on Atypical Parkinson disorders and Huntington disease.
Key Responsibilities:
Center of Excellence Coordination
Collaborate with Dr. McFarland to coordinate weekly CoE clinics for Atypical Parkinson disorders and Huntington disease. Ensure seamless patient visits by coordinating schedules with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, fellows/residents, nurses, rehab specialists (PT, OT, speech), social workers, neurogenetics counselors, and research coordinators. Review clinic schedules and communicate with patients and caregivers to assess needs prior to visits. Facilitate pre/post clinic meetings to aid in planning and execution of patient care. Organize and lead patient-caregiver support groups (virtual and in-person), and assist with educational outreach activities and events.
Research Coordination
Support clinical research studies for Atypical Parkinson disease (MSA or PSP) and Huntington disease. Conduct chart reviews, identify and recruit study participants, and ensure proper consenting processes. Administer clinical questionnaires in-person, accurately record data, and manage databases. Handle the collection, processing, storage, and shipment of samples per protocol and regulatory requirements. Promote and market ongoing and upcoming research initiatives at the Fixel Institute.
Regulatory Management
Oversee internal and external inspections of subject medical records for compliance with protocols. Prepare and submit necessary documentation, including adverse event reports, study closures, and protocol revisions, to the Institutional Review Board (IRB). Ensure accurate tracking and filing of all regulatory documents and maintain compliance with timelines to prevent project delays.
Representation & Training
Attend conferences and meetings as a representative of the Department of Neurology and Fixel Institute Biomarker Program. Maintain up-to-date training and certifications.
