Job Description:  

Assemble, organize and manage the Collaborative by maintaining contact with and updating members and Sea Grant project team, and organizing and summarizing meetings. The MCS will also serve as a liaison with representatives of the other regions and represent the Collaborative at outreach and industry events.

Assemble and synthesize fact-based information on the current status of aquaculture in the U.S. Southeast region. Monitor and manage the production of communications and advertising products. Assist with graphic design for communications products and develop creative content for advertising campaigns.

 Develop and implement the Collaborative’s marketing/advertising efforts, including print, web, and social media. This function includes updating/creating and maintaining a website, and developing marketing campaigns to reach target audiences (e.g., seafood consumers, local public officials, and the general public).

Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of the programming. The MCS will help identify key metrics for success and accomplishment, collect and analyze data to routinely report on effectiveness of campaigns, and write annual and a final project report.

 

Expected Salary:

 $52K - $58K

Minimum Requirements:

A bachelor’s degree and two years of experience; or an Associate’s degree and five years in an appropriate area of specialization; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in marketing, public relations, communications, or related field.
  • Experience in the development and implementation of communications campaigns, public relations campaigns, writing (articles, blogs, story maps, etc.), editing, and social media.
  • Critical and analytical capabilities for quantifying linkages between marketing and social media communications, program participation, and customer service.
  • Experience in addressing misinformation.
  • Knowledge of aquaculture technologies.
  • Knowledge of fisheries and seafood markets.
  • The ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate, lead, and work collaboratively as part of a team.
