The College of Pharmacy invites applications for the position of tenure-track Associate/Full Professor and Chair of the Department of Pharmacotherapy and Translational Research.
The College of Pharmacy is seeking a visionary leader for the Department with experience in collaborative research partnerships and who will further fulfill the department’s research vision for improved individualization of pharmacotherapy and nurturing the next generation of diverse scientists and leaders in pharmaceutical sciences. The ideal candidate will have a distinguished record of research, teaching, scholarly accomplishments and leadership. They should also be an accomplished educator with experience in professional and/or graduate education as well as mentoring both junior faculty and graduate students. The Chair will be expected to work with the department in a collaborative, inclusive, and transparent manner to promote overall interests and development of the department faculty, staff, postdocs, and students, and with the Dean and other College of Pharmacy leadership to fulfill its research, education, and governance missions.
The Department of Pharmacotherapy and Translational Research: The Department of Pharmacotherapy and Translational Research faculty are very interactive and engaged leaders in clinical and translational research and education. The PTR department is highly integrative and collaborative, with active and strong programs in a broad range of research areas. The department consists of 13 tenured/tenure-track, clinical, and research-track faculty in addition to affiliated faculty, across 3 campuses in Gainesville, Jacksonville, and Orlando. It has a well-recognized residential graduate program with approximately 25 residential PhD and MS students. The department’s research infrastructure is supported by the Center for Pharmacogenomics and Precision Medicine, which facilitates the clinical implementation of pharmacogenomic and precision medicine research, and teaching and service focused on genetically guided therapeutic decision-making and drug development.
The UF College of Pharmacy The UF College of Pharmacy possesses outstanding strengths across the drug discovery, development and use pipeline, currently ranking #4 among colleges of pharmacy according to US News and World Report (USNWR) and #3 in total extramural, federal and NIH research funding, according to the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP). It possesses a robust professional program of over 890 PharmD students and a graduate program currently consisting of more than 130 students.
