Job Description:
  • Collaborates with other creative services members, colleagues from other College of Education and the College of Medicine and others to ensure that quality standards are met. Performs pre-production which includes communicating with faculty and stakeholders and detailed planning of the multimedia aspect of the course/product. Supports the production of multimedia with other creative service members which will include but not limited to video, photography, set planning, light mapping, and audio recording. Performs post-production which will include but not limited to reviewing footage, making editorial decisions, audio adjustment, color correction, and final editing using Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Audition, Photoshop, and Illustrator software; utilizes computer graphics and special effects for video post-production in accordance with the overall production concepts and client/stakeholders goals.
  • Collaborates with faculty, instructional design, and communications staff in the College of Education to produce audio-visual media to be implemented in online and blended learning environments, websites, and other media outlets. These collaborations require attention to client comfort and clear communication. Media will include, but not be limited to: graphics, photos, animations, captured video, and interactive graphics; Works in collaboration with ETC, Faculty, the College of Education, College of Medicine, other clients and production staff (and contractors) to produce a variety of video products for course and marketing purposes.
  • Collaborate with Creative Services and Communications staff in the College of Education and College of Medicine to post-produce audio-visual media to be implemented in online and blended learning environments, websites, and other media outlets. Plans and performs video post-production tasks which includes reviewing footage, making editorial decisions, tape logging, rough cuts, audio adjustment, color correction, and final editing using Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Audition, Photoshop, and Illustrator software; utilizes computer graphics and special effects for video post-production in accordance with the overall production concepts and college program goals; compresses video projects for output; captures recorded video using software and encode media as appropriate; makes video products available in a variety of formats including streaming media files; leads to close captioning of produced video; coordinates internal and external duplication services as required.
  • Support the development and finalized production of additional multi-media products (photography, video, audio, etc.) by working closely with the Office of E-Learning, Technology, and Communications (specifically with the Production Manager, Design Manager and Director); The College of Education Dean’s Office; The College of Education Office for Alumni Affairs; and College of Education associated centers (including the Lastinger Center, the Anita Zucker Center for Early Childhood Studies, and others).
  • Other duties as assigned.
Expected Salary:

Salary is commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree and one year of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Video/Audio Experience:
  • Produce quality video with attention to lighting, sound, shot composition, camera work, etc. Recognize and employ industry production values (i.e. flow, visual presentation, style guidelines, transitions, etc.).
  • Apply a systematic process to the design and development of digital media projects, informed by a thorough knowledge of digital media software applications and technologies.
  • Develop creative, but practical solutions for digital media projects (e.g., digital audio, digital video, web-casting/streaming, interactive software design, video capture techniques).
  • Stay current with the latest technical equipment and editing techniques. Proactively seek new, efficient ways to accomplish editing tasks.
  • Mastery of video editing software (such as Adobe Premier) and train student assistants in using software.

Photography Experience:

  • Lighting, composition, exposure, for candid and/or staged photography
  • Leading post-production work in order for visual design to reflect college product or program goals.

Professional Experience:

  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving and prioritization skills in the midst of multiple tasks while retaining attentiveness to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to stay up to date on new and emerging technologies in the digital media field with record of scholarship in the field (e.g., publications/presentations).
  • Demonstrated ability to work within provided structure and with attention to production schedules.
  • Demonstrated sophisticated design skills and current with design trends.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally; handle multiple tasks and priorities; adhere to production time lines and budgets; meet all deadlines.

Successful incumbent will have a portfolio of work that demonstrates creativity, competence, vision, and aesthetic judgment.
