Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Master Lecturer

The Department of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering (MAE) in the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering at the University of Florida invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track, 12-month faculty position at the rank of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Master Lecturer (working title of Instructional Assistant/Associate/Full Professor). The position’s anticipated start date is Fall 2024.

Duties and responsibilities include teaching, revising, and developing undergraduate engineering courses and laboratories/facilities in following areas: Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, and Fluid Dynamics Laboratories; Capstone Design and Capstone Design Realization Laboratory; Design and Manufacturing Laboratory; and other related aspects of mechanical and/or aerospace engineering. The candidate will also have the opportunity to participate in department, university, and professional service activities and educational research activities.

The MAE department is specifically looking for candidates with a passion for teaching and a desire to develop and/or continue a career in the pedagogy of experiential engineering education. The Department of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at the University of Florida (https://mae.ufl.edu/) has over 60 faculty members working in all aspects of mechanical and aerospace engineering and is expected to grow in upcoming years. The total student population is approximately 2500 with nearly 200 in the Ph.D. program. Recent US News & World Report has MAE ranked as 16^th and 16^th for the aerospace and mechanical engineering programs, respectively, among graduate engineering public universities in the US.

M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a closely related discipline.

The ideal candidate would have a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Engineering Technology with prior industrial and/or instructional experience in related fields or hands-on educational setting.
