Job Description:

The Miranda Quintana Research Group at the Department of Chemistry, University of Florida (UF), Gainesville, FL invites applications for a Postdoctoral Associate position in Computational Chemistry to begin immediately. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Prof. Ramon Miranda Quintana (https://quintana.chem.ufl.edu/), focusing on the development of new similarity-based Machine Learning techniques for drug design and biomolecule analysis. This two-year appointment is renewable based on performance and funding availability.

Successful candidates shall have strong background in computational and theoretical chemistry. The postdoctoral associate will be responsible for conducting research on developing and implementing new ML tools using our n-ary similarity methods. The postdoctoral associate will also be expected to mentor graduate students, publish in peer-reviewed journals, and assist funding applications.

Expected Salary: The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, and the compensation includes a full benefits package.
Minimum Requirements:

Ph.D. in Chemistry

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience with clustering methods and drug design is a plus.

The successful candidate should have a strong background in computational chemistry
Experience in ML techniques and Python coding
A strong track record of publications would be an asset
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and in a team
Ability to take initiatives, set priorities, time-manage, and resolve problem
