The Opportunity:

Are you an organized, charismatic problem-solver? The College of Journalism at the University of Florida is seeking an Outreach Coordinator for the Office of Careers and Corporate Partnerships (OCCP), and the Knight Division.

In this role you will serve as a steward of the departments’ outreach to prospective, applying, and current students. The Outreach Coordinator will interact with prospective students, monitor the progress of applicants, and assist with the coordination of student recruitment for CJC admissions and employer sponsored program attendance.

Looking for someone with strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively and effectively across divisions and in a culturally diverse environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.

Key duties:

  • Provides direct support to the OCCP administratively with employer and internal partner programs by tracking student participation, and leading student facing communications.
  • Managing employer sponsored events and career fairs including student interview scheduling, room reservations, etc. 
  • Organize on and off campus recruitment events.
  • Manage volunteer student ambassadors and collaborate with staff and faculty for recruitment initiatives.
  • Set actionable and measurable goals and objectives for recruitment each cycle.
  • Monitors program expenses, budgets and finances for recruitment programming and travel.
  • Manage student prospect relationships through a database and utilize that data for targeted promotion.
  • Ensure recruitment communication is clear on the website, printed materials, and other collateral.
  • Propose improvements to processes based on interactions with stakeholders.
  • Answer prospect questions with accurate and timely information that adheres to UF CJC brand guidelines through phone conversations, email correspondence and in-person meetings.

Expected Salary:

$50,000 - $60,000

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Customer service skills
  • Public Speaking and presentation skills (Recruitment experience is a plus)
    • Comfortable talking to parents, students, prospects, and speaking to an audience
    • Comfortable with persuasive and persistent messaging to engage students
  • Attention to detail
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Salesforce or other CRM software
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Organization/Event management experience
  • Comfortable operating presentation software
