Job Description:

The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Florida (UF), College of Medicine in Gainesville, Florida is seeking an Assistant/Associate/Full Professor for our outpatient practice in Student Health Psychiatry at the Student Health Care Center. The position is a full-time (1.0 FTE), non-tenured multi-mission track faculty position and will be at the forefront of providing comprehensive psychiatric care and consultation services to UF students facing diverse mental health challenges including general mental health disorders, multicultural concerns, trauma, eating disorders, substance abuse and gender/sexual minority issues.  The candidate’s impact will extend beyond direct student care as collaboration with various campus entities is integral to our mission to help every student achieve optimal health in the pursuit of personal and academic success.  As a faculty member in the College of Medicine, the candidate will also contribute to its educational mission by participating in graduate and/or medical education, particularly the teaching of adult fellows, general psychiatry residents, and medical students during rotations and seminar teaching. Finally, the successful candidate must be willing to engage in service at the level of the department, college, and larger profession. All student health psychiatry faculty share in the after-hour call duties for the Student Health Care Center.

Expected Salary:

Commensurate with training and experience

Minimum Requirements:
  • Applicants must have a M.D. or D.O. degree and be licensed in or eligible for licensure in the State of Florida and be board certified/board eligible.
  • Completed residency in psychiatry.
  • Possess prior clinical experience in a teaching institution or service
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong written communications skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong candidates will be motivated physicians with a desire to work in an academic setting
  • A candidate with a fellowship in Addiction Medicine, Child & Adolescent, or Community Psychiatry
