The University of Florida College of Medicine as part of UF Health, invites applications for a full-time Radiation Oncologist to serve as a key member of the UF Health Proton Therapy Institute (UFHPTI) and UF College of Medicine at an exciting time of growth and innovation. A Florida Cancer Center of Excellence and an NCI-Designated Cancer Center, the institute delivers effective proton cancer treatment with all the resources of a non-profit major academic health center. Located in Jacksonville, Florida, UFHPTI is the first and leading proton therapy facility in the Southeast, and for more than 15 years, our expert physicians have treated more than 10,000 patients and over 20 cancer types, helping patients around the world achieve excellent success and quality of life. We serve as a center for 

multidisciplinary research with 300 published articles involving all interests that touch cancer and its treatment.

With a commitment to providing exceptional care to a diverse patient population, our expert team of physicians, researchers, and support staff collaboratively addresses a broad range of malignancies. From brain, head and neck, thoracic, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, pediatric, to rare tumors, we offer personalized treatment and support to patients from various backgrounds, ensuring excellence in cancer care.

The Opportunity

As a Radiation Oncologist at the UF Health Proton Therapy Institute, you will provide comprehensive radiation oncology care to our patients, including treatment planning, delivery of proton therapy, and coordination of care with other members of the multidisciplinary team. This position offers the opportunity to join our esteemed team as a faculty member in the Department of Radiation Oncology. Depending on qualifications and experience, the position can be ranked as either Assistant Professor or Associate Professor (tenure or multi-mission track). 

This position is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and motivated Radiation Oncologist seeking an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the field of cancer care and research.

As part of this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide radiotherapy and patient care including both proton and photon-based therapy for adult and/or pediatric patients.
  • Support a robust, cross-disciplinary research program with institutional collaborative clinical trials.
  • Contribute to the scientific and clinical communities through scholarly publications and participation in national boards and committees.
  • Deliver clinical education and advanced training to medical students, residents, and fellows.
  • Represent the Department of Radiation Oncology and the UF Health Proton Therapy Institute on committees while also taking part in professional development opportunities and presenting at national conferences.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build a diverse and comprehensive clinical radiation oncology practice, collaborating closely with colleagues and the multidisciplinary team. You will actively contribute to the advancement of various treatment modalities and programs, fostering innovation and excellence in patient care. As part of your role, you will actively participate in clinical research initiatives and play a vital role in 

enrolling patients into clinical trials, contributing to the development of cutting-edge therapies and advancements in cancer treatment.

Expected Salary:

Commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

To be considered for this position, you must be board-certified or board-eligible in Radiation Oncology and have a valid Florida medical license or be eligible for licensure in the state of Florida

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong clinical skills, dedication to patient care, and a passion for advancing the field of radiation oncology through research and scholarly activities are preferred.
