This position is covered by the Federal Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act of 1991. Individuals applying for this position or incumbents of this position are required to hold a valid commercial driver's license as a condition of employment. The act requires that all such individuals be subject to pre-employment and continuing post-employment drug and alcohol testing. Failure to comply with such testing is grounds for dismissal from employment with the University.
Operates Grapple truck in support of tree removal, debris disposal, and landscape boulder/heavy material moving.
Operates backhoe iand mini excavator in support of repair of underground utilities, install sidewalks/patios/repair roadways.
Coordinates maintenance of equipment which includes grease equipment as required, check air filters, tire pressures, and oil levels.
Operates front end loader to move topsoil, load mulch, and support for backfilling construction projects.
Operates dump truck in support for heavy equipment projects, and moving heavy materials.
Operates utility tractor in support of mowing, tilling, disking, grading and etc.
Performs other duties and work as directed
Work hours 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Position is considered as Essential Personnel as defined by UF Policy.
A Criminal background check and post offer health assessment will be conducted.
Drives state vehicle that requires a Class B Commercial Driver License. Employee must possess and maintain a commercial driver’s license.
