Position: Full-time, 9-month, non-tenure accruing, three-year fixed term faculty position UF Title: Term Research Assistant Professor Working Title: Maker-in-Residence – AI & the Arts Date of Expected Hire: August 16, 2024 Salary: $82,500 - Comprehensive and highly competitive leave and benefits package eligible The College of the Arts (COTA) seeks an internationally recognized maker whose current and ongoing work is consciously located within a cultural diaspora and/or engaged with migration in creative fields including but not limited to art, design, music, theatre, creative writing, dance, and/or film as they intersect with emerging technology, specifically AI. The Maker-in-Residence’s projects will help shape the forward-thinking research agenda of the Center for Arts, Migration, and Entrepreneurship (CAME), with a particular focus on cultural production in diasporic communities. Working with members of the college, the university, and the community, the Maker–in-Residence will also be responsible for guiding and implementing initiatives on behalf of the growing Center within and beyond this top six, public, comprehensive, land-grant research university. This position, though housed in the College of the Arts, serves the broader campus community.

A Post-doctoral Associate position is available in particle physics theory to work on a project on particle physics phenomenology led by Dr. Rachel Houtz in the Department of Physics. The postdoctoral candidate will work to support the research projects of Dr. Rachel Houtz and is encouraged to work with other members of the theory group as well. The group's research interests include axion and dark matter phenomenology, gravitational wave phenomenology, BSM model building, applications of machine learning to particle physics, and early universe model building.
