The successful candidate will work closely with faculty and other team members to develop novel therapies for patients with neurological and psychiatric disorders. The OPS Medical Scientist will perform work central to the development of data analysis pipelines, supporting data analysis quality assurance, and troubleshooting. This team member will also assist in projects that relate to our ongoing cutting-edge research directions, including finite element modeling, positron emission tomography/magnetic resonance imaging (PET/MRI), magnetic resonance (MR) diffusion imaging, computed tomography (CT), and data visualization tools for neuroimaging. The individual will be expected to interact with other teams to facilitate program activities and to meet deadlines or resolve technical problems both independently and collaboratively. The OPS Medical Scientist will be expected to interact with students who work on relevant projects in data analysis methods. The successful candidate must have strong technical skills with a background in medical imaging data analysis and excellent written and oral communication skills. The individual will work on the maintenance and execution of standard data analysis packages and on the development of unique data analysis and data visualization pipelines. This position requires creativity and the ability to troubleshoot issues as they arise.

The Florida Sea Grant (FSG) web developer is part of the program’s communications team and assists in ensuring the website remains updated and accurate, user-friendly, and visually appealing. The position maintains the program’s flagship website and associated program microsites, and creates and manages new websites, upon request. The developer curates web pages, writes copy, maintains web content accessibility (WCAG) AA accessibility compliance, monitors peer websites and trends, and considers the sites visual identity and navigation meet industry standards. The candidate must have expertise in website maintenance, front-end best practices, current WCAG requirements, and know HTML, CSS, or other web-based programming languages to ensure site functionality, layout, and visual identity meet standards. The developer will build websites or webpages promoting FSG’s education, extension, and research activities and programs. The candidate works closely with the communications team to develop multimedia needs to enhance user experience. The successful candidate will work with the communications team to determine relevant web content and meet with faculty and other stakeholder groups to maintain web copy accuracy, report on web analytics, make navigational decisions after analyzing data, find and fix web bugs, and troubleshoot security and other site issues. The candidate must be able to work within a team and have the capacity to work independently as a self-starter under deadline and with minimal supervision. The developer is responsible for proper logo use on websites and on social media, as encountered, in accordance with NOAA and National Sea Grant Office guidelines.

This team member will also assist in projects that relate to our ongoing cutting-edge research directions, including finite element modeling, positron emission tomography/magnetic resonance imaging (PET/MRI), magnetic resonance (MR) diffusion imaging, computed tomography (CT), and data visualization tools for neuroimaging. The individual will be expected to interact with other teams to facilitate program activities and to meet deadlines or resolve technical problems both independently and collaboratively.
