The candidate will engage in distinct additive manufacturing (AM) experimental research projects, supervising student assistants, coordinating multi-site laboratory logistics, and assisting with the development of research dissemination materials such as, but not limited, to technical publications, research status reports, preparation of results for presentations to be reviewed by the principal investigator. The successful candidate is expected to have hands-on experience with various AM techniques such as Direct Energy Deposition (metals), Bioprinting (soft materials), and/or other AM techniques. Other relevant experience to include proficiency in operation of manual and computer numerically controlled (CNC) machining systems, as well as practice with materials characterization and analysis techniques. The candidate should have experience with working with wet chemistry techniques, along with carrying out experiments within a fume hood, and safe handling of materials and chemicals. Lastly, ability to interact with varied audiences (i.e. students, internal and external academic colleagues, industry, government) is required. The appointment is on a 9-month contract starting on or near August 15, 2025.
