Design, administer, manage, and maintain the data resources used by IPR, including census and operational files, dashboards, crosswalks, program inventories, and the source data for web-based applications, dashboards and visualizations.  Also prepare documentation and training materials for these resources.

Design, administer, manage, and maintain federal and state data files for IPEDS and SUDS data submissions.  These data files are core resources used by IPR.  Perform data integrity checks to ensure compliance with data definitions and reporting standards.   Maintain and update the programs used to validate these files.  Validate the SUDS data used for the Accountability Plan.

Support university decision makers by responding to requests for information and technical assistance in identifying and using university and external data. Use statistical and database software to analyze and interpret data of interest (e.g., enrollment, financial and human resources data) relevant to university policy decisions.  Produce reports, tables, graphs, briefing materials, and presentations synthesizing research/outcome findings for university decision makers.  

Work collaboratively with staff from a variety of offices in responding to requests, designing query and reporting systems, and contributing to IPR’s online self-service web resources.

Assist in technical coordination, development and transition of comprehensive databases and productivity tools within IPR, to more current/effective technology.

Perform other related duties as required

Expected Salary:

$70,000

Required Qualifications: Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience. Experience merging and integrating complex data sets. Outstanding quantitative reasoning and programming skills.
Preferred:
  • Experience in higher education research.  Strong interest in education policy and research. 
  • Advanced technical and programming skills with statistical packages (SPSS, SAS); database software (SQL); scripting software (Python); query/report building tools; business intelligence tools; and MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience developing visual displays of data, and business charts/graphs (Tableau, Cognos).
  • Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills.  Able to identify and present the crucial results of research effectively. 
  • The successful candidate will be able to collaborate with others, acquire new technical skills, and be committed to high standards for detailed work, while understanding the strategic context of our research.
