Over the last several years, the University of Florida Levin College of Law has expanded our national profile through a number of strategic initiatives. The changes at the school have been recognized by U.S. News & World Report and other publications. To continue our success, we are seeking a Program Coordinator who will embrace an environment of innovation and seek to be a part of the school during this exciting time. Reporting to the Senior Assistant Dean of Students, the incumbent will be responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing student organization and career services events and programs for 1L, 2L, 3L and LL.M. classes of the law school. The program coordinator will advise and support student groups and special student populations as they organize, plan and execute large- and small-scale events and meetings. They will communicate with student leaders, student groups, and individuals to ensure they comply with university and departmental policies and procedures.
Student Event Support and Execution
Assist in the implementation of all student organization, student life, and career development workshops, panel discussions, and programs. This includes but is not limited to coordinating with staff members to plan program content, creating program materials and signage, sending invitations to students, adding events to internal and external calendars, liaising with student organizations, tracking student responses and attendance, printing name tags, table tents, program signage, and coordinating with program participants. Program topics may include job fair preparation, legal practice areas, student job searches, interview strategies, geographic interests, job fair orientations, practice interview programs, resume workshops, general body meetings, conferences, and alumni events and panels.
Recruiting Event Support
Oversee and coordinate a variety of recruiting events for all classes of students, including numerous firm receptions and events throughout the year. Work closely with the Senior Assistant Dean of Career Services and the Director of Career and Professional Development to implement large scale events.
Student Events Liaison
Serves as the Student Event Liaison. This includes but is not limited to working with student group leaders to coordinate events hosted by student groups; disseminating student group specific information from employers and from relevant industry groups; arranging conference calls and meetings between student group leaders, the Senior Assistant Dean of Career Services and the Director of Career and Professional Development; resolving conflicts between calendared events and student group events; relaying information to student groups in identifying alums and other experts to serve as panelists, guest speakers, etc. at relevant student events; working with Student Life as needed to resolve issues and respond to inquiries related to student group events, communications etc.
Assist the Senior Assistant Dean of Students in the creation, organization, and updating of employment and personal information on all students being served by the Office of Career Services. Data is used for a variety of internal assessments, as well as the basis for presentations to faculty, trustee, and other bodies and for submission to admissions, NALP, the ABA, and other outside publications.
Attend student group events, employer events for specific student groups, and industry events.
The Levin College of Law is growing and changing daily. All College of Law community members are expected to perform other duties as assigned in furtherance of our strategic goals.
