Job Description: |
The project covers Sarasota, Manatee, Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Hernando, and Citrus Counties.
The work will be completed within a three-year time frame (2025-December 2027).
Hours per week: up to 15 hours. Typically, Monday-Friday, with some nights & weekend hours.
This position reports to Lara Milligan, UF/IFAS Extension Pinellas County Natural Resources Agent and Linda Seals, UF/IFAS Extension Regional Specialized Agent.
KEY RESPONSIBIITIES:
- Assist with identifying and recruiting key community leaders to participate in CIVIC training workshops.
- Assist in the coordination and facilitation of three regional CIVIC training workshops for community leaders on flood risk awareness and public engagement
- Support community leaders in hosting eight or more local listening sessions to gather input on flood risks and community concerns.
- Track dates, times, locations and key metrics for community listening sessions. Attend as many community listening sessions as possible, including the documentation of common themes heard during listening sessions.
- Develop facilitation kits, surveys, and discussion guides for community use.
- Assist in the organization of three additional CIVIC training workshops focused on deliberative discussions around proposed resilience projects (Phase 3).
- Assist community leaders in hosting at least six deliberative discussions to gather feedback on project concepts and trade-offs.
- Track and report engagement metrics, including participant demographics and feedback.
- Compile and submit summary reports, workshop materials, and evaluation data to the project team.
- Maintain regular communication with community leaders and project staff to ensure alignment and support.

Expected Salary: |
$15 - 18 per hour, commensurate with experience
