Job Description:

This position is located in the Department of Epidemiology, jointly housed in the College of Public Health and Health Professions and the College of Medicine. Plays a key role in supporting the national All of Us project through assisting in curriculum development, testing new functionalities of the database, and performing advanced data analysis. Position will be instrumental to advance the research and analysis of the existing All of Us Researcher Workbench.

Responsible for ongoing evaluation and revision of the curriculum in development for use of the All of Us database. Work will include organizing evaluation from current users and revising the curriculum content to increase the communication effectiveness. Position will also be involved in identifying curriculum changes needed by the shift to the Verily platform beginning in September of 2025. This area will include close communication with Health Literacy Media, our communications partner for the curriculum.

Position will provide testing and support of data organization and functionality requested by All of Us project managers. Tasks will include completing NIH technical assistance requests that require subject matter experts. This may include reviewing new data types, features, and functionalities within the Researcher Workbench, providing feedback on emerging national initiatives and pilot testing new products for researchers.

Responsible for providing strategic input into the All of Us Data Roadmap, to leverage the Scientific Priorities Framework. This work to advance the research and analysis of the All of Us database will make lasting connections with partners of the All of Us Research Program. Will provide expertise in statistical data, models analysis and data science methods, working with the NIH Project Officer.

Position will utilize various statistical software packages, including Python, R, SAS, Jupyter Notebook, and SQL, to perform data analysis for advanced analytical projects. Work will be performed in a public web access ecosystem with privacy permission issues for varied levels of access. Work will include validating user interfaces and the organization of data.

Based on the work performed in other functions of the position, this individual will collaborate on manuscripts and presentations with both internal and external contacts on a national scale.

Expected Salary:

$65,250 - $75,000 commensurate with education, skills, and experience.

Required Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in data science, statistics, bioinformatics, analytics, or similar field and two years of experience; master’s degree in data science, statistics, bioinformatics, analytics, or similar field.

Preferred:

•  Demonstrated experience working with complex data types and a public web ecosystem with privacy                  permission issues

•  Coding experience, including querying relational databases

•  Working knowledge of Python, R, and SAS
•  Advanced skills with Jupyter Notebook and SQL
•  Experience and proficiency in data management
•  Knowledge of/experience with creating databases or data warehouses.

Schedule: Work will typically be completed Monday – Friday, between the hours of 8:00am and 7:00pm; Evenings and weekends as needed. The incumbent in this position must be able to accommodate flexible work hours when the position demands it, due to time-sensitive deadlines and/or projects. This is an in-person position.
