Job Description:

UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking a intermediate level Linux Administrator to join the Infrastructure & Communication Technology team within UFIT.

Competitive candidates will be self-motivated, organized, and eager to learn with outstanding communication skills.  You will lead medium sized projects and coordinate small teams responsible for maintenance, installation, configuration, and deployment of enterprise-wide infrastructure and software systems.

Some key responsibilities and characteristics of this position are:

  • Linux Administration of Enterprise Applications.
  • PeopleSoft maintenance and administration.
  • Scripting and automation using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, GitLab, etc...
  • Large scale Linux administration.
  • Assist Linux Platform Team in architecture and implementation.
  • Provide input, advice, and recommendations on enterprise systems administration and management technologies.
  • Mentor and cultivate fellow talented staff members.

Benefits

Full-time TEAMS employees accrue vacation leave at a rate of 6.769 hours biweekly/22 days annually and sick leave at 4 hours biweekly/13 days annually. In addition, employees are eligible for ten paid holidays each year.

Vacation-accruing TEAMS employees are eligible for four personal leave days/32 hours per year, assuming full-time status. These leave days may allow units to close from December 26 to 31, when possible, determined on a unit-by-unit basis.

Expected Salary:

$75,000 – $85,000; commensurate based on education and experience. 

Required Qualifications:

Preferred:

The ideal candidate will possess the following education, experience, and skills:

  • Experience in Installation, Architecture/Design, and Management of Enterprise Application Infrastructure in large-scale environments using on-premises and cloud deployments.
  • Experience with automation, scripting, and configuration management systems such as: Puppet, Ansible, GitLab CI/CD, Terraform, and Python.
  • Knowledge of load balancer appliances, policies, and virtual server load balancing.
  • Exposure to Large scale Linux System management with the ability to perform in-depth troubleshooting.
  • Experience with monitoring systems experience such as: Nagios, Zabbix.
Special Instructions to Applicants:

This position requires US work authorization.

This role will be based in one of our Gainesville offices and may include a hybrid schedule: three days in the office (Wednesday required) and two days remote.
