Job Description:

Strategic Leadership and Coordination:
Develop and lead strategic Student Engagement communication and marketing initiatives that embody the Division of Student Life's strategic plan. Collaborate with senior leadership to identify communication needs through research and data analysis. Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to craft a variety of marketing strategies aimed at effectively reaching an array of target audiences. Manage the Student Government Graphics and Copy Center to ensure efficient operations including hiring, training, and supervising student graphic design employees.

Project Management:
Manage complex marketing and communication projects, ensuring timely completion and high-quality deliverables. Establish and maintain efficient workflows for project requests, setting appropriate timelines and ensuring clear communication regarding project progress. Lead project meetings with the Student Engagement portfolio to discuss design layouts, goals, and complex project issues. Plan and assist with communication to various stakeholders through diverse media channels, including digital and print.

Assessment and Data-Driven Optimization:
Evaluate the success of marketing and communication efforts, ensuring alignment with public relations strategies and portfolio objectives. Develop and implement methods for data collection to inform and optimize communication strategies. Analyze data to enhance the effectiveness of communication efforts across multiple platforms and audiences.

Brand Standards:
Create and maintain brand standards for the Student Engagement portfolio while following both UF branding and DSL branding. Advise the development and implementation of a unified, effective marketing and promotions process to increase Student Government’s visibility and the use of SG programs and services. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of departmental events, programs, services, and target markets to develop effective marketing campaigns. Collaborate with Student Life Marketing & Strategic Communications on written materials, press releases, and content creation.

Vendor Relations and External Communications:
Develop and maintain relationships with external vendors, ensuring adherence to brand standards and efficient procurement of marketing materials. Prepare artwork files for print, meeting vendor specifications and managing purchases of marketing materials from third-party vendors.

Contributes to the Division and University through active participation on committees and division-wide initiatives (example opportunities: emergency dean on call, move-in, conduct committee, student welcome events, etc); and, other duties as assigned.

Expected Salary:

$72,000.00/year

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree and six years of relevant experience; or an Associate’s degree and eight years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

•           Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years relevant experience in marketing within higher education.
•           Demonstrated proficiency and excellence in writing and editing
•           Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
•           Proficiency in all social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
•           Highly proficient in print-related applications and techniques
•           Demonstrated knowledge and experience in managing printing processes and pre-press production requirements
•           Knowledge of Final Cut or Premiere Pro            
•           Demonstrated knowledge and experience in web design process and development
•           Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) and Macromedia Dreamweaver
•           Demonstrated organization and communication skills (verbal and written)
•           Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
